Scotch Eggs
Ingredients:
Sausage Mince (I used 6 satis sausages)
4 hardboiled eggs
1 cup bread crumbs
½ cup all purpose flour
1 egg lightly beaten
1 teaspoon parsley
1 teaspoon ground pepper
1 teaspoon curry
A pinch of salt
Directions:
Remove the sausage casings, add the parsley, pepper, salt, curry and mix well.
Divide the sausage mix into 4 equal parts.
Coat each egg with flour, cover with the sausage mix, roll in egg and then cover with bread crumbs. Allow to rest.
Put some vegetable oil over the stove to heat up. When it's hot, put the scotch eggs to fry. Let cool and then serve.

Oh chichi this is good. But the flour are we goin to coat the egg like that?
ReplyDeleteYes, it's plain flour. Just dust the egg with the flour. Won't be a lot on the egg.

ReplyDeleteYou're doing great!
Thanks Dear!
DeleteChichi, this is really great. Keep ur good work up. Pls what is parsley n where can I get it?
ReplyDeleteHello Anon. Parsley can be found in any good vegetable market or supermarkets like shoprite.
DeleteU didn't mix your sausage paste with egg before wrapping?
ReplyDeleteHi Onyx...with the kind of sausage I used, I didn't need eggs to bind it together. If you can get ur hands on fresh sausages, just remove the casing and it should hold well...but if you precooked sausages then you'll need the egg to hold together.
DeleteWhere can I get bread Crum, can I get it at shoprite too?
ReplyDeleteYes you can find bread crumbs in shoprite. You will also find it in SPAR and Everyday Emporium or any other big superstore close to you.
DeleteWhat if there is no shoprite @ your place of residence? Like calabar where would one get the parsley and bread crumbs?
ReplyDeleteHello…i'm not sure where u can find bread crumbs in Calabar. Isn't there a shop rite there? What of Park and Shop? Id suggest u look in any big store there.
DeleteHi Chichi,
ReplyDeleteCan you please tell me where i can get satis sausages or what other kind of sausage i can use?
Been planning to make this forever and I think today is the day.
ReplyDeleteLol...let me know how it goes
DeleteI did the first time, used ground beef instead of sausage and I think I had the beef on too thick. It was burning up while still bloody inside. Learned my lesson. Second time I followed the recipe exactly as prescribed and it was just perfect. Now my family wants me to keep making it. Thanks for sharing your recipes. I have tried one of your pasta recipes and loved it. Don't remember what it's called but it has wine in it. Shooting for lasagna next. Have always been intimated by the lasagna process but yours looks so easy
DeleteYaaaaaaay...I'm glad it eventually worked for u. I think the pasta u made with wine is shrimp scampi n im glad u loved it too. I hope the lasagna turns out nice.
Delete@ emakoko- Please, which of the sausages did you use and how did you get it to the ground state. Thanks.
