Beef Shawarma

Ingredients:
Beef
Carrot (Grated)
Cabbage (Chopped)
Green Pepper (Chopped)
Sausages (Cooked)
Mayonnaise
Ketchup
Ground pepper
Pita bread (aka shawarma bread, Lebanese bread).

Directions:
Season the beef and cook till it’s tender. Strain the beef from the stock and allow to cool and then cut up into bite-sized chunks.

Fry the cut up beef to brown a little.

In a bowl, combine the vegetables, beef chunks, pepper and mayo/ketchup mix (how much mayo/ketchup mix you put depends on you but just make sure the filling isn't dry). Mix well.

Carefully separate the bread and spread the mayo/ketchup mixture on the inside part of each bread half.

Spoon a generous amount of the mix into your pita bread and top off with a sausage or two.

Roll the bread and place on a hot grill for like 5mins. If you don’t have a grill, you can do it on a hot skillet with the seam side down.

Wrap in a foil after grilling.

ENJOY!!!

  18. For those of us worried about eating raw veggies, you can sauté them for 30secs to 1min. Another suggestion is to julienne the veggies as opposed to chopping.
Chi I love ur blog. I've always loved cooking and am starting to take it more seriously (a la baking and roasting and bbq'ing), thanks to Food Network(addicted to) and now you. More grease to your skillet.

  26. This is so easy to make and thanks for the easy steps. Tried it but some wraps go torn as I roll. I used the lebanese bread which I think is too thick and causes the breaking. I also stir-fried my veggies a little as I hate the raw taste of veggies. The whole household enjoyed it for breakfast.

  27. Mmm, this looks delicious! Thanks for sharing. I think I just found my breakfast for tomorrow…
